Our four-week adult “Intro 4“ class is designed for beginners with no experience throwing on the pottery wheel and those who have been away from the wheel and need a refresher. Participants work on basic pottery skills: how to prepare clay for the wheel, and the steps for creating (“throwing”), finishing (“trimming”) and glazing cylinders, bowls and cups. This class can be taken more than once. Class size is limited to eight participants. Length of class is 2.5 hours.
Price ($180) includes instruction, clay, firings, and glaze. During the COVID-19 pandemic, county public health officials wish us to minimize sharing of tools. You can buy a basic set of eight pottery tools from us for $12 or purchase a set at a local art supply store or online.
Cancellation Policy: Cancel your order within 48 hours of booking and receive a 100% refund. Tuition is 50% refundable if you contact us at least two weeks before the session has started. COVID Update: the studio will refund students if scheduled classes that haven’t started have been cancelled due to the outbreak. We will prorate refund or arrange follow up sessions for classes that have already started.
Missed Class Policy: We will be working with wet clay during the first two weeks of class, then carefully drying it to the right texture for week three. Because of this, we are unable to offer make up classes for the first three weeks. You are able to reschedule the fourth class (glazing) to a glazing session in a future “Intro 4,” “Step Up To Studio,” or “Quick Start Intro 3” class.
